Create an instance of SQL 2005

Dear friends,

I deleted the instance of SQL 2005, and now I want to create and I dont know how! Colud you tell me?
Thanks.

Insert the setup media and install it again, you have the chance to name of new instance there. (don′t forget to patch the system again after installing the instance from scratch)

Create a Text File

Dear all,
I wanted to create a text file to be passed as input to a Mainframe
system. I have created an SP with the query to create the data exactly
in the requisite format. I need to be creating the text file from
within SQL Server only. I have used osql utility to achieve this and it
works.. However, it adds a couple of extra new lines in the end of the
text file, which is not acceptable to Mainframe system.. Is there any
way I can get rid of the 2 additional lines in the end of the file? Or
is there another way to do this?
I would really appreciate a quick response..
Best regards,
Varkey
PS: I am using master..xp_cmdshell to execute the osql statement. I am
using SQL Server 2000
osql format is 'osql -Q"EXEC mysp" -o c:\test.txt -h-1 -s"" -Smyserver
-dmydb -E'Consider making a small DTS package with the stored proc as the SQL for the
Data Pump. Have SQL Server execute the package.

Create a copy of database

Dear all,
From SQL Enterprise Manager, how to create a copy of existing database ?
i.e. there is a database called GL2005 and I want a copy of GL2005 with the
name called GL2006.
Thanks.
Vensia
1. backup/restore
2. deattach, copy files, attach
3. Use DTS or SSIS (depending upon version)

|||Hi
You may want to check out the following articles that describe the
techniques Mike has suggested
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304692/ if using backup/restore you will
need to use the MOVE option to change the file names for the new database
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/221465/
If you are using detach/attach the existing database will be offline while
you copy the files and you will need to attach the original database as well
as the new one:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2240...22120121120120
Both of these methods would not remove the data in any way, and any
subsequent changes to the old database will not be reflected in the new one
(and vice-versa), therefore you may be only required to take the backup and
save it. (after checking that the backup has worked!).

CR prints no record although there is records in dbase

Dear all,

I found a problem and this makes me frustrated.
I'm using VB6 and CR 8, When I saved a transaction and print invoice, there is no data printed on CR (I'm sure the there is a record saved in database). The big matter is it's happened sometimes.
It runs ok for several transaction and happen again.
I'm really confused, I've tried to close all connection before printing invoice. But it still happened.
Please let me know what should I do.
Urgent..

Thank you.One thing that gave good result to me, was :
In VB6, before process the report:
Close the tables and database & execute DoEvents
ReOpen the database and tables (if needed) after preview or print the report
